Confuzzled was pretty awesome, too long to make a post about it and to be honest I actually cant be bothered. So heres a summary, in no particular order:


We went to manchester via Wales. But the less said about that the better.

My failfursuit (Derek) won the "Extreme fursuit building" competition. (pics of derek below)


Incase you couldnt tell, Derek is a manticore. There were 4 teams, each team was given a mythical creature to make a fursuit of, Gryphon, Dragon, Unicorn and Manticore.


Manchester is a strange place.

The windscreen wipers on my car broke in torrential rain about 10 minutes outside of manchester, I had to rely on radio communication from matt lion in the car infront to navigate. (I later found that this was due to the previous owner holding the linkage together with, you guessed it, hair bands. Yes, hair bands.)

Nearly fell asleep at the wheel on the M5 southbound. Scared the shit out of my 3 passengers as I drifted into the middle lane then swerved sharply back into the inner lane. It was scorching hot, Id had hardly any sleep, the weather was humid and muggy, motorway driving was monotonous and the other three bastards were all sleeping comfortably ciomplete with syncronised snoring, so I nearly drifted off too :x

As some of you may or may now know, due to the violent crime reduction act (VCRA) to purchase any realistic impersonation firearms (RIFs) i.e any decent airsoft guns, you now have to be on the UK Airsoft Retailers Association register(UKARA). To get registered with UKARA you have to be a member of a recognised airsoft club and play at least 3 matches in no less than 2 months. This is thoroughly gay. Seeing as the only people who actually going to obey this are the law abiding people who arent gonna go rob people with them. So once again labour's kneejerk reaction fails, just like banning handguns, the only people who handed thiers in were the law abiding ones.

Anyway, enough anti-labour ranting.

I found out theres a recognised airsoft club in plymouth! This made me very happy, its Recon Paintball in plymouth, however every 3rd sunday of the month they have an airsoft walkon day, and yesterday I went along to this, and it was fucking awesome! Spirit raptor tagged along too!

Firstly the site itself, its about 50 square acres of forest on the outskirts of Dartmoor. Its got an amazing atmosphere when youre creeping through the woods, the treeline stretching further than you can see, waiting for someone to pop out of a bush and pepper you with BBs.

I was worried that I might have been a bit OTT or taking it too seriously when I turned up in full soldier 95 camo, tactical vest, helmet and boots. These fears were quickly put to rest as a bunch of royal marines turned up dressed head to toe in black SAS kit, another guy who turned up in a full ghilli suit and camo face paint (really good job he did too actually!) and another guy who turned up with 8 guns strapped to him. If anything I was feeling a bit under dressed!

Next came gun handing out, I wanted a G36K with integrated scope rail, however the navy lads stormed in and grabbed them first, and to be honest I wasnt gonna argue with a bunch of marines. So I went for my second choice an MP5, seeing as when I get UKARA registered my choice of starter gun was narrowed down to these 3, MP5, G36K or M16A2.

So I thought Id use the MP5, get a feel for it, see if I wanted one.

First match of the day was VIP escort, we were on the ambush team, the team split up and me & raptor were sent ahead to wait at "the bunker" (bunker was the point the other team had to get thier VIP to) and ambush them if they made it past the main group.

This was all fine and dandy except for the fact that we were looking for a bunker, y'know some sort of fortified building set into a hill or something. We wandered thruogh the woods for about 20 minutes finding various game zones, including a massive crater with an unexploded bunker-buster bomb in the center of it, carried on wandering and couldnt for the life of us find this damn bunker! Until we heard the marshalls calling game over, we wandered back and found the enemy team and a marshall standing in the bomb crater.

Would have been nice if someone had explained that infact it wasnt a "bunker" but a "bombed out bunker" lol, we missed the entire first match >.< fail.

The rest of the day went much better, except for the marines taking it faaaaaaar too seriously, they also all bought about £30 worth of thunderflash grenades each (thunderflashed are brilliant little things, they explode with a massive bang and a concussion wave, as well as stinging like a bitch if youre within a few metres of it!) This however was a problem, for example, one match involved one team defending the fort whilst another tryed to overrun it. It took our team 20 minutes to claim the fort, it took the marines about 3 minutes, they just threw handfuls of thunderflashes over the walls D=<

I have however been put off the MP5 though, as I managed to break about 8 magasines for it, because they come with hi-cap mags, you pour about 200 bb's into it, then wind a wheel at the bottom, however mine kept unwinding, jamming, spooling all the bb's out and generally not working, so after a few matches I swapped it for an AK47, and as much as Id slagged the AK off, it was a brilliant gun, dead accurate, really powerful and never had a single problem with it!

So all in all had a really good day! Achey all over though, that waas the most excersise Ive had in about 5 months since I started working for dominos! lol.

now Ive got a bit of experience with them, Ive changed my mind about what gun I want to get for myself first. I now want either an AK47, a M14 SOCOM or the M16A2, will probably get an AK first as theyre widely regarded as a good starting gun, plus theyre the cheapest of the lot, you can pick up a good AK for about £80.
